TRIAL DESCRIPTION
Public title a novel airway device for for diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography in pediatrics
Official scientific title Efficacy of the laryngeal mask airway gastro during trans esophageal echocardiography in pediatrics: A randomized trial.
Brief summary describing the background and objectives of the trial The laryngeal mask airway (LMA) Gastro is a new LMA with an endoscopy channel The LMA Gastro facilitated esophageal intubation while providing a positive pressure lung ventilation with clinically satisfactory seal pressures. The aim of our study is to evaluate the success of insertion of LMA Gastro for diagnostic TEE in pediatric patients and related airway and ventilation adverse effects

STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Factorial: participants randomly allocated to either no, one, some or all interventions simultaneously Randomised Simple randomization using a randomization table created by a computer software program Sealed opaque envelopes Masking/blinding used Participants
INTERVENTIONS
Intervention type Intervention name Dose Duration Intervention description Group size Nature of control
Control Group endotracheal tube endotracheal tube will be inserted from the start of the procedure to the end the whole duration of the procedure endotracheal tube of appropriate size will be inserted after induction of anesthesia then will be removed at the end of the procedure 70 Placebo
Experimental Group LMA Gastro Laryngeal mask airway Gastro will be inserted from the start of the procedure to the end the whole duration of the procedure Laryngeal mask airway Gastro will be inserted after the induction of anesthesia and it will be removed at the end of the procedure 70
