TRIAL DESCRIPTION
Public title Ramadan intermittent fasting and physical training in management of obesity and overweight
Official scientific title Combined effects of different exercise modalities and Ramadan intermittent fasting on body composition and biochemical, immune and metabolic responses in people with obesity
Brief summary describing the background and objectives of the trial Interval exercise has been shown to be an effective modality for improving health and an efficient alternative in time management compared to traditional continuous exercise in the management of overweight and obesity. Moroever, several studies have highlighted the importance of Ramadan fasting on health due to its convenience and benefits for improving body composition, insulin sensitivity, fat oxidation and many other biochemical, cardiovascular and metabolic adaptations in people with obesity . The first objective of this study was to examine the effect of high-intensity (HIIT) and moderate-intensity (MIIT) interval training in Ramadan intermittent fasting on body composition and metabolic ,immune and biochemical responses in people with obesity. The second objective was to assess the best time of training in Ramadan intermittent fasting.

STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Parallel: different groups receive different interventions at same time during study Randomised Simple randomization using a randomization table created by a computer software program Numbered containers Masking/blinding used Participants
