STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Parallel: different groups receive different interventions at same time during study Randomised Randomization was performed through a computer-generated, random-number list. The random number list was generated by means of the QuickCalcs (GraphPad Software Inc., La Jolla, CA, USA). The group assignment numbers were sealed in an envelope and kept by the study supervisor. After the written consent was signed, the opaque envelope was unsealed to determine which drug would be used. Sealed opaque envelopes Masking/blinding used Outcome Assessors

OUTCOMES
Type of outcome Outcome Timepoint(s) at which outcome measured
Primary Outcome The primary outcome measures were visual analog scale pain scores and postoperative analgesic consumption. The primary outcome measurements of the current study included average postoperative VAS pain scores (for incisional, abdominal and shoulder pain) and postoperative analgesic consumption. Secondary outcome measurements were length of hospital stay, time to return to normal activities and overall patient satisfaction with analgesia.
Secondary Outcome Secondary outcome measurements were length of hospital stay, time to return to normal activities and overall patient satisfaction with analgesia.
