TRIAL DESCRIPTION
Public title Educational Program about Eco-Friendly Dentistry to improve Intern Dentists' Knowledge and Practices
Official scientific title Effectiveness of an Environmental Educational Program on Intern Dentists' Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices Regarding Eco-Friendly Green Dentistry
Brief summary describing the background and objectives of the trial The dental industry has been associated with significant environmental impacts as its traditional practices include the use of non-recyclable materials, excessive water consumption, and hazardous waste generation. So, dentists have a vital role to play in protecting natural resources and reducing the environmental impact of their work. Due to the high ecological footprint of dentistry, the concept of "Going Green" is gaining traction in dental practices. Eco-friendly or environment-friendly materials minimize negative environmental effects, offering a more sustainable approach. the purpose of this study was to determine how knowledgeable dental practitioners were of eco-friendly procedures at the moment and how the training program affected the participants; practices. An interventional quasi-experimental study (one group pre-test-post-test design) was conducted on 69 intern dentists at the Faculty of Dentistry Alexandria University. Assessment of knowledge and practices related to eco-friendly dentistry was performed before and after the educational program.
