TRIAL DESCRIPTION
Public title Assessment of Retinal Microvascular Alterations After YAG Laser Capsulotomy Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography
Official scientific title Assessment of Retinal Microvascular Alterations After YAG Laser Capsulotomy Using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography
Brief summary describing the background and objectives of the trial Background: Following a straightforward cataract operation, posterior capsular opacification (PCO), commonly referred to as "secondary cataract" or "after cataract," appears over the clear posterior capsule a few months to a few years later. Objectives: To evaluate the effect of Neodymium-doped Yttrium Aluminum-Garnet (Nd: YAG) laser capsulotomy on retinal microvasculature by comparing it before and after Nd-YAG laser capsulotomy using optical coherence tomography angiography.

STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Single Group Non-randomised Allocation was determined by the holder of the sequence who is situated off site Masking/blinding used Participants
INTERVENTIONS
Intervention type Intervention name Dose Duration Intervention description Group size Nature of control
Experimental Group YAG laser Capsulotomy approximately 20 minutes YAG laser Capsulotomy is a laser treatment applied on the capsule that supports the artificial lens in the eye after cataract surgery. During cataract surgery, the natural lens inside your eye is removed from the lens capsule and an artificial lens is put in its place. With time, the lens capsule can become cloudy which prevents light from reaching the back of the eye (retina). The laser beam is used to make a small opening into the cloudy capsule to allow the light to pass through, allowing you to see more clearly. 35
