TRIAL DESCRIPTION
Public title Intensive versus Normal Rehabilitation Programs in Stable COPD Patients
Official scientific title Intensive versus Normal Rehabilitation Programs in Stable COPD Patients
Brief summary describing the background and objectives of the trial Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a multifactorial and progressive chronic respiratory non-communicable disease. Management of this disease encompasses a multifaceted approach, Pulmonary rehabilitation is considered a cornerstone treatment in the management of COPD., Each patient exercise according to a protocol especially written for the individual severity of the disease, there is a large debate what is better for each patient an intensive program with 2 sessions per day or one session is effective?, as People with COPD frequently face specific disabling, therefore we have conducted our study to assess if there is a difference between the two programs with one or two sessions per day? And to find out which is beneficial from different views as cost-benefit and functional limitations.

STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Parallel: different groups receive different interventions at same time during study Randomised Simple randomization using a randomization table created by a computer software program Central randomisation by phone/fax Open-label(Masking Not Used)
INTERVENTIONS
Intervention type Intervention name Dose Duration Intervention description Group size Nature of control
Experimental Group pulmonary Rehabilitation programs will receive two sessions per day 3 weeks The program of rehabilitation in the form of limb and chest PR will be designed according to each patient’s medical condition, in the form of range of motion exercise ( active and passive) to all joints of both upper and lower limbs, stretch to both tendo Achilles and shoulders, message to both calf muscles, ankle pump exercise bilateral, chest expansion exercise, respiratory muscle exercise, cough training exercise, trunk–abdominal exercise, graduated strengthening exercise, bedside mobility training exercise, graduated gait training exercise, and graduated stepping training exercise. The patients will be divided randomly into two experimental groups: the second group one session per day. 25
