STUDY DESIGN
Intervention assignment Allocation to intervention If randomised, describe how the allocation sequence was generated Describe how the allocation sequence/code was concealed from the person allocating the participants to the intervention arms Masking If masking / blinding was used
Factorial: participants randomly allocated to either no, one, some or all interventions simultaneously Randomised Simple randomization using a randomization table created by a computer software program Sealed opaque envelopes Open-label(Masking Not Used)

Intervention type Intervention name Dose Duration Intervention description Group size Nature of control
Control Group control group 6 months 6 months expectant management 31 Placebo
Experimental Group diet and excercise group The caloric restriction diet intervention was a modification of the (Diabetes Prevention Program) DPP (20) and the Look (AHEAD) trial lifestyle interventions (21) which were designed to produce an average loss of 7% to 9% of initial body weight by 6 months. This included monthly 1-hour group sessions led by experts in nutrition, exercise, and behavior change during which women will be encouraged to increase physical activity to at least 200 minutes per week using brisk walking or activities of similar intensity and to record exercise time daily. In addition, women were instructed to follow a reduced-calorie diet (1200–1500 kcal/d), offered sample meal plans modeling with low fat high fiber regimen. 6 months diet and excercise group 31
